Sintrataxi - Barahona

A friend of ours arranged a trip to lago enriquillo. The arrangement was to bring us from barahona to the starting point of the excursion at the lakeside and to bring us back to barahona after the excursion for RD 4200.-. Leonel (the taxidriver nr 79 of sintrataxi) was very gentle at the beginning and made some brief stops on the way to the startingpoint. He said, he wanted to show us these nice places. After the excursion he started to drive towards barahona. After about 2 km (in the middle of nowhere) he told us, that we had to pay RD 7000.- for the trip, because of all the stops and extraturns he made. He never asked us before the extraturns and stops, neither did he mention, that the costs would increase. He left me, our friend and my pregnant wife in the middle of the street and went to get the police. Thanks to our dominican friend we caught a public bus, that passed by random, and we got to the next bigger village. But not without explaining us to all the military which the driver had informed, that we didn't want to pay at all. Thanks to our friend, who is a policeman too, we could arrange with the police of the next village, that the driver had to bring us back to the hotel for RD 5000.-. A true loss of nerves and a horrible end of an actually very nice excursionday. We don't understand why someone like this driver is allowed to work at a company that's specialised on touristtransports.
